New Construction

How We Build: The Process

Dream it.

Build it.

Live it.

  1. Design

Whether it is a new home, addition, or remodel - it all starts with the design and selecting your finishes. One of our designers will work with you to help make selections. From the exterior stone to the tile in your bathroom, this is where it all begins!

2. Plans, Interim, Forms

In the second stage, MKG creates then submitting plans, engineering surveys and other required documents to the city for approval. After that is complete, we begin setting the stage for your foundation.

3.

Through Slab Pour

In this stage, we set foundation boards, also referred to as form boards, and install the plumbing in the ground. All this must be inspected prior to pouring the slab. Once the slab is poured, the real fun begins!

4.

Frame, Cornice, Windows

In this stage, the structure of your home will be established. Walls, ceilings, roof line, (stairs/second floor if you chose this) will take shape. Your beautiful home is beginning to take shape!

In stage 5, we install the roof and the inner workings of your home. Your air-conditioning units are installed, electrical lines are run, and fireplaces are built. The next stage of plumbing is completed to prepare for stage 6.

6. Frame Walk

During the MKG Frame Walk, an MKG Representative will walk through your home with you to explain the framing and verify that all the cables and options are located in the correct area. This is a perfect time to ask questions.

7.

Green Tag Inspections

In Stage 7, we, as well as the government inspectors, will be inspecting every aspect of your home to ensure it is up to building code and standards.

8.

Insulation, Sheetrock

Now, it’s time for your home to be insulated! Once that is complete, we install drywall and perform an energy inspection, to make sure your house is performing as it should.

9.

Texture, Brick, Cabinets

Things are coming together! Once the drywall has been installed, we will begin preparing your walls for texture. We will also start to install the brick on the exterior, and you will begin to see your beautiful home take shape. After texture is dry we will begin the cabinet installation process.

Interior Paint, Tile, Vinyl, Mechanical Trims

It’s time for “finish out”! After interior paint and cabinets are good to go, flooring is installed, countertops are installed and the final phase of plumbing is completed. All electrical and mechanical trims are finished and we have another round of inspections.

11.

Carpet, Final Grade, Fence

Next, we will install all the carpet in your home, clean up the interior and exterior, and begin to install all the fencing around your property. At this stage, we perform any finishing details that need to be addressed.
